Hello. I am new to the group and I am looking for some help. I am
currently in college and will graduate in May (yeah). I have always wanted
many children and most recently, well over the past few years, have decided
that I would rather adopt than have my own. I am wondering, is there an age
that is too young to adopt? I live in PA, where you have to be at least 21
years old, which I qualify for that, but I am looking for a more non-legal
answer to my question. I know that it is expensive to adopt but I want to
go through the foster care system. One reason is that I heard that it is
supposed to be cheaper and I want two kids right away (ideally two sisters,
though I will adopt any combo of boys/girls). I also know that I want to
have a stable job before adopting but I don't expect that to take too long
after May (I want to get a job as a social worker so shouldn't have too much
trouble getting a job). What else do I need to consider before attempting
to start the process of adoption? Thanks in advance for all the help.

I have found that you are more likely to be granted an adoption petition if
you are married or with a significant other. Single people are granted
adoptions but, they do like a mother and father figure over a single parent.

I adopted my wife's daughter a little over a year ago. IMHO, cost should not
matter or enter into the picture. If you love them, no price is too hig.

Good luck in your process.
