Hi Everyone!
I've mostly lurked here and posted on alt.infertility.secondary even
though I'm a primary...after 3 failed clomid plus IUI cycles and 1
unmonitored clomid cycle, we had a visit with an RE who recommended
IVF with ICSI. Has anyone been through this? what to expect? are there
any books that you'd recommend regarding the nuts and bolts of this
stuff and how to best ensure success?
Warm wishes,
Joelle

Hi Joelle,

I have a wonderful, energetic, sweet first grader as a result of IVF
with ICSI Smile I know many things vary by clinic, my procedure was 7 years
ago, and there are advances every day. Every woman is different too. I
was very nervous about the whole thing, fear of failure for the most
part (I'd been on the ride for 3 years, Clomid, injections, IUI, a
chemical pregnancy from my first IVF). I don't know of any books, but I
do know that the ladies on these boards are a wealth of knowledge.

Success depends on many things. Acupuncture has been proven beneficial.
At the time I went through it, my clinic wasn't recommending much, but I
know things have changed. I'm an example though, of how not relaxed you
can be and still have success. I was a wreck the whole time, yet it
worked. I don't recommend that as a success strategy though Wink

Mostly this is my long winded way of saying, good luck from the bottom
of my heart, and you'll be in my thoughts Smile Keep us posted, and
hopefully you'll be a fresh new glowing face around here in a few weeks!
