I had my maternity photos done yesterday, and my photographer said we
probably won't get our proofs for a couple of months because she's so far
behind--which is fine by me because I think I'm really going to miss being
pg and will enjoy looking back at myself--but she did send us a link to a
sneak peek. There was lots of lace and draping of fabric and barely
covered-ness involved in the entire morning, and it was a lot of fun. Feel
free to check it out:
http://kimgoldman.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/02/07/_h9k4818.jpg.
The baby and I have had a major growth spurt over the past couple of weeks,
so I'm now doing the pregnancy "waddle" and everything... it feels a little
surreal.
It's been a crazy, busy week with all the preparations, but I can finally
see the light at the end of the tunnel now in terms of work to do around the
house. It's a little dim and still in the distance a bit, but reassuring
all the same. Off to get more work done now, in fact--lots of friends
coming over tonight for my Blessingway (I SO wish we could afford a
housekeeper!). Happy Friday, everyone!

Beautiful. I look forward to getting a peek at the rest. I love pregnancy
portrats so happy and litterally full of life.
Have great fun at your Blessingway. Are your friends going to incorporate a
henna ceremony too? A friend of ours did that and she felt so at peace and
prepared afterwards. Enjoy! and blessings!

Yeah, I think they're going to "try" to do a henna tattoo on my belly,
though none of us has done it before. They're also making a birth necklace
for me, as well as writing their blessings and wishes for the baby and me on
quilt pieces that I'm going to have put together... MAYBE it will be done in
time for the birth, but who knows? I'm really excited to be surrounded by
all the positive, strong female energy! I'm also expecting to cry my eyes
out because I'm so emotional these days, but that's neither here nor
there...

There are a couple of websites that have henna patterns for Blessingways
that make it apparently quite easy, I know easy is is in the eye of the
beholder. If you are doing a simple patchwork you can sew them in a string
and that makes it move much faster. I made many of them for a project we did
providing quilts for newborns in the ICU. If you need better instructions,
feel free to email me.
