i got my first period when my son was 3 1/2 months old (with
exclusively b/f). i have had one for the last 4 months, any where from
35-44 days apart. with each cycle i have mid-cylce spotting. i looked
this up and found that this means "high fertile times"-HA! never
thought i would hear that used to describe me. prepregnancy i would
have 60+ days b/t cycles and would rarely ovulate (have pcos). with
this spotting it would last 3-5 days, and then 2 + weeks later i would
get my period.

any way here is my question: i got my period on jan 8. it lasted about
a week, until say jan 15. then on the 17 i started spotting and have
been spotting everyday since, for about a week now.

what could this be? what would you do?

thank you for your help. i don't know who else to ask. besides, we all
know (collectively) a ton about our bodies from all that we have been
through.

Ask your ob/gyn. S/he would know more about that than any of us do.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you are having breakthrough
bleeding due to either estrogen or progesterone imbalances...your OB
would probably put you on birth control pills to level these out and
stop the spotting, is my best guess. Of course, it's best to get the
expert opinion just in case there's other problem/s going on. Hopefully
bcps will fix the problem though.

thank you. i finally made an appointment. i really love my ob (kind of
looking forward to seeing her again!). i just hate sounding like a
complainer-even if there is something wrong.
i hope to not go on the pill. i am really liking getting regular'ish
periods on my own. besides, we are going to take advantage of these
cycles soon to try for another child.

I can't tell you how many stories I've heard about people who got pg
either while taking bcps or right after! Smile Hope you are right, you
won't need them, but if you do, best wishes and prayers that you are
in that successful group! Smile

I had a similar problem before getting PG with Ian and I needed a couple of
D&C's to stop the odd bleeding. Once I went on DepoProvera shots I did end
up pregnant so figure that one out.

=-) A trip to the doctor is probably a good idea. Perhaps two or three
rounds of birth control pills might help get things regulated and then you
can get back to cycling on your own, baby dancing, and having a great time
trying for another little person.

Hope you have a good visit with the OB and some good answers.

Feel like my period is about to come The beta test is this Friday and a few days ago I had the slightest spot of blood on my underwear (sorry TMI). It didn't reoccur after that and I don't know if slight spotting is at all normal if you are really pregnant. On that same day I had some cram

When will my period return? Not that i want it too!! But with my other two pregnancies i was having irregular periods before and i didn't breastfeed exclusively. Now i am mainly just breastfeeding only maybe one supplemental bottle at night so i am wondering when will i have one aga
