Wanting the best that life has to offer is ingrained in all normal

Then 99+% of humanity must have been abused.

Well supported by reality.

All of America's history shows the quest for more materialism and the
good life.

Cites to the contrary?

People keep demanding more materialism, more wealth, more luxury.

And I say, more power to them.

To increase to the maximum intent possible.

Human nature.

People don't care about "everyone."

If others have less, they will have more.

Fact is: You're too incompetent and/or lazy to compete; hence you want
a piece of what others have earned.

Everytime you whine about a landlord, someone else is thinking "Hmmm
how can I become a fat, prosperous landlord?"

The particular pilgrims were only one colony and... communism
failed (whether because of human nature or some other thing, we
have no real idea)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1285981/posts

The pilgrims may have started as *communists,* but the colony would
not have survived if they had continued in this manner.

Property in Plymouth Colony, he observed, was communally owned and
cultivated. This system (“taking away of property and bringing [it]
into a commonwealth”) bred “confusion and discontent” and “retarded
much employment that would have been to [the settlers’] benefit and
comfort.”

The most able and fit young men in Plymouth thought it an “injustice”
that they were paid the same as those “not able to do a quarter the
other could.” Women, meanwhile, viewed the communal chores they were
required to perform for others as a form of “slavery.”

On the brink of extermination, the Colony’s leaders changed course and
allotted a parcel of land to each settler, hoping the private
ownership of farmland would encourage self-sufficiency and lead to the
cultivation of more corn and other foodstuffs.

So you're talking about the Native Americans being communist, is that right?

Duh!

Lemme guess, now you're going to try to lie about them too!
