BR,
Two Young Mothers with Children (both boys) who were both instructed
to start correcting their children at an early age to:
- Simply getting down at the Child's Level Face-to-Face.
- Zig the Child on the Wrist with One Finger
("Snapping" the Index Finger 'off' the Thumb).
- Next Holding the Index Finger Up to the Child's Face
(So that the Child Will "SEE" the Finger and FOCUS Their Eys On It.)
- Then Saying The Child's Name and the Word "NO" in a Firm Voice.
(So that the Child Will "HEAR" the Parents VOICE and FOCUS Their Ears
On It.)
The-Bottm-Line: FEEL (NOT PAIN & INJURY) + SEE + HEAR = REMEMBERING
One Young Mother followed the Advise and now that the Child is Three
Years Old
the Child often looks toward the Mother when it is about to do
something that
HE Knows is 'wrong' and the Mother simply Holds Up Her Finger and Says
"NO".
The Child "Accepts" the Parenting (Parental Control) of the Mother.
The other Young Mother did NOT followed the advise and now that the
Child
is Three Years Old the Child 'often' is SPANKED by the Mother.
This Child has NOT Learned to 'accept' the Parenting (Parental Control)
of the Mother.

Just wait, there, "R. Steve" -- someday maybe you'll have kids of your own.
Better to save your ranting and raving until you've got some experience in
the area.

Amazing, isn't it? It's like the old chain message trick, when a verbal
message is passed from one person to another the 10th person will
inevitably hear a very different message than the 1st person. The
internet seems to work in the same way. Also, the internet seems to
bypass most people's bullshit detector, people who think long and hard
about the infotainment spewed by TV News will automatically believe
something posted anonymously to a newsgroup on the internet without a
second thought.

I DO know that Jefferson would be horrified at it.

No, you're not. No 54-year-old parent, at least one that's not
institutionalized, would use the language that you do. You're a 19-year-old
failing college student. |

Well, I've certainly been put in my place! Next time my child wants to
stay home from school for a month to watch the tube, play in the street
during rush hour or shoot dope, I will just let him do it, because
that's what friends are for, and parents should never interfere with
their childrens' freedom, no matter how ill-informed it may be!

Another cum-wad with children someplace who thinks I'm his little
brother. I'm 54 years old and have a son, 31, and a daughter, 28,
you shithead.

RSW,
"I told a teacher in 9th grade that if he touched me he wouldn't
survive."
If we are to 'believe' your statement; then you must believe you are
justified in Living your Life through Threat and Intimidation . . .
The Life of a "Bully".
Judging by 'your' Writing and the Tenor of your remarks here;
would, in general, reflect this assessment.

Where do you figure that? I know plenty of people with more then 2 kids
that use language exactly like that.. now 1/2 of them I know would smack a
kid upside the head for using that same language and wonder where they
picked it up but Steve does not seem like one of them.. While I don't agree
with everything he says I don't take him for a liar..

How did a discussion on parenting get crossposted from "misc.kids" and
"alt.parenting.solutions" to "rec.radio.shortwave"? Parents, if you
haven't seen some of these poster handles in your NG before, that's
because this discussion was crossposted to two rec.radio.* NGs,
shortwave and scanner. How it relates, I don't know. Please remove these
NGs (I'm sure "misc.consumers" would appreciate it too) from your rants
about parenting. Thanks.
