Not that i want it too!! But with my other two pregnancies i was
having irregular periods before and i didn't breastfeed exclusively.
Now i am mainly just breastfeeding only maybe one supplemental bottle
at night so i am wondering when will i have one again?? It was a fluke
that i even had the period last April on my own. I wonder now will i
have regular periods now???

My guess would be at least six weeks. With Rachel I had been so irregular
for ever that my period coming back was a surprise. That was at about 7
weeks or so if I remember correctly because it was right around my ob check
up time.

Who knows. Everyone is different. Some women who breastfeed don't get
their periods back for a year or two, some only a few weeks. You just can't
know how your body is going to respond.

I've never had a period while breastfeeding, but they returned pretty
quickly after I stopped- like within 5 or 6 weeks. I was irregular
before I got pregnant the first time, but like clockwork after.

i was so irregular-were talking 60+ days was the closest my periods
ever were. i still am breastfeeding my son but started solids at 5 1/2
months. i got my first period when he was 3 1/2 months old. now i get
them any where from 35-44 days apart. i have never got 4 consecutive
periods without being on the pill. i am thinking about b/f him until
he is one and to start trying again during the last few months. i am
afraid that once i stop b/f him, my periods will vanish. who knows!

I have heard some women too after they start solids and the baby is
eating less sometimes your period comes back. With me being very
irregular before you never know though. i guess it will be a wait and
see.

The period i had last April (was not provera induced or progesterone
induced) like i normally had to have done when i didn't have a
period. It was an out of the blue period (on my own) which totally
shocked me!! Then about 2 months later is when i found out i was pg
with Asher!!

Clarice,

with Tan I didn't get my period until 6mo pp, I was breastfeeding
exclusively.
with Ela it came back at 3mo pp, I was supplementing with one evening
bottle.
This time I did not get it yet, though I did have some bleeding
because of IUD..but no AF yet..I am ebf'ing ..

I don't think you can tell, but if you are supplementing at all, my
guess is it'll come sooner than later..

That was the weird part I breastfed Rachel for the first two months almost
exclusively, and had a period anyway. See, my body didn't have a clue what
it was doing.

Not true, IIRC, I had my period within a month or so of having Maya, and
I was breastfeeding her exclusively! They also became pretty regular
after Maya was born, and cramping was a lot less painful than prior to that.

I started spotting when Skylar was 16 months old. I am not sure, if
she really slowed down on nursing or if it was just that I was losing
weight. I went on Nuvaring to combat the spotting. I am interested to
see, if there are any changes to what has been regular for me since
being on Nuvaring, since she weaned last month.

I think I am the lucky one when reading this thread. My period didn't come
back for 6.5 months with Caitlin (1 month after I stopped pumping for her,
wasn't breastfeeding her), for 17 months with Bess (I was still
breastfeeding her) and for 20 months with Ava (I was still breastfeeding her
too). It was nice being without periods for so long.

I got mine back on DD's first birthday. I fed exclusively, and started
solids at 6.5 months. She was down to 3 feeds a day and eating solids like a
horse when they returned.
