It seems her name came from a 19th-century poem, "Nothing to Wear," by
William Allen Butler.

Note that the spelling is different.

I can't stand that the 1980s editions of Mariana's books do not have
the exact same abstract watercolor illustrations as the originals.
Considering that other not-so-famous illustrators' works have been
faithfully reproduced, why couldn't they do it for HER books?
