I found this website in a parenting mag today and i am addicted to it
now!! It's called freerice.com and you pick one word that means the
same as the word on top. It builds your vocabulary and it donates 20
grains of rice everytime you get one right to the United Nations
hungry. I kind of wish they had one for America's hungry too!! Just
thought if you were ever bored you could do this and donate free rice
while your at it!! Smile

I admit i had to use the dictionary a lot!! LOL

That was fun...I did 35 of them and only missed one! Here's another fun one
www.guessthespot.com . There are birdseye photos of landmarks around the
world and you have to guess what the place is. Some are easy, but a few of
them really make you think!

Ooo, great idea, Clarice! Since it's not on a timer, what a great way to
teach dictionary skills to the kids! Smile

This is great! I'm thinking of using it as a center in my classroom for my
4th graders. Set them up with a dictionary and a computer and they are all
set. Smile

I just did the Free Rice one for 1,000 grains of rice, and got a 34 out of
40. Not bad. I was suprised at some that I knew. I mean, I'd go with my
gut feeling but not think I knew the answer and it would be right. Then on
others, I'd second guess myself and take longer to think about it, and would
get it wrong, but when I saw what the answer was, I'd be like -- well duh!
I knew that!

On the Guess The Spot quiz I got 14 out of 16, so a 90%. Not too bad. I
missed the leaning tower of Pisa, and Wrigley Field.
