Nothing happening here, Lily (and everyone else)! Saw the midwife this
morning, and there's no news to report. Heart rate sounded good, blood
pressure was back down to its normal low level, and there's no indication
that anything's going to happen anytime in the next few days (though of
course this can change any time). I also saw my acupuncturist this morning,
and he gave me a treatment to help me sleep better and for general stress
relief, so that was a happy, relaxing start to the day. I told him that
while I don't want the "induction" treatment, I'm fine with whatever he
might want to do to encourage the baby to come if s/he's ready. I had him
remind me of all the good acupressure points that might help get things
going if I start to feel antsy and told him I'd make another appointment if
baby decides to be really stubborn about coming out.
On the homefront, FINALLY got the nursery painting done, with the exception
of some significant touch-ups to the trim (painter's tape never actually
keeps paint from bleeding through, does it??) and the chair rail, both of
which will probably just wait 'til sometime after baby's here when my dad
comes up to help. I'll try to post some pics when I have a few. Also
worked last night on getting the room where I plan to labor ready for the
big event: aluminum foil on the windows to block out the way-too-bright
sunlight, a tarp ready to hang over the open doorway, and the birth kit
double-checked and in place. I'm super-excited about having a homebirth,
but the one caveat with this plan is that it means I feel somewhat paranoid
about trying to have my house clean all the time because when I do go into
labor, the house will be full of people on my birth and support teams. Not
that any of them will care about a little dust or mess, but I don't want to
have to think about it, you know? So that's been a bear, especially since
we tend to live in a perpetual state of clutter. DH not only went to the
grocery for me last night, but he spent the evening giving the kitchen a
major cleaning, and over the weekend, he actually cleaned all the bathrooms
for me, though I still need to get the floors cleaned in one of them. He's
going to tackle the refrigerator tonight... I SO love him for being so very
willing to help with everything. Today, I'm trying to get everything
unloaded into the nursery, plus tidying up the remaining rooms in the house
and continuing the laundry-fest that seems to be the story of my life these
days.
Other than the nesting--which I'm doing more because it needs to be done
than because I have some overwhelming urge to do it--there's not much else
going on. I'm off to make a late lunch and then need to make a small Target
run before coming home and MAYBE squeezing in a tiny nap before jumping back
into the work for the day.
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts, and I'll definitely keep you all
posted!

Oh Ga it sounds like your still nesting!! It won't be long now! It
also sounds like your ready for the baby to come. I would have loved
to have had a home birth or even a water birth but no one would have
considered me a candidate for a home birth because of my history of
preterm labor and my blood pressures. I can't wait to hear your birth
story!!! Your in the home stretch now. Good luck!!

Sounds like things are going at their own pace That baby will come
when s/he's ready! And I feel for you about the laundry. You'd be amazed
at how much laundry a baby can make, even before they're here!!
