This is just to let ya know Asher's billirubin level went up more
today and doctor is admitting him for photolight therapy. I am a
basket case!!! Just letting you know!!

Oh Clarice, I am sorry this is happening. But please don't get to worked up.
Jaundice is very common, the bili lights are not painful or anything and it
will probably not take long to get him right as rain again.

You are all in my prayers Sweetie. I am sure he will be just fine.

It's always scary when your little one needs to be admitted for any reason,
but I'm sure he'll be just fine. Jaundice is fairly common in newborns. Kyra
had it after she was born and had to stay an extra day in the hospital under
the bili lights. It was so hard to be discharged and leave without her, but
by the next morning she was 100% better.

We are waiting now til the kids get out of school but I can stay with
him they said!! I dont have to leave him!! Smile

I am so happy i dont
have to leave him!! I was thinking the worst case scenerio but TIm
called and said they give the mother a room to stay in while he is
having therapy!! I was so upset before. didnt mean to scare anyone
just need prayers for my little one!!

Oh, Clarice, I'm so sorry for your worry! I know I'd be a wreck, too, were
I in your shoes. But just try to keep in mind how common jaundice is, and
make sure you're BFing him as often as he'll take it, since pooping is one
major way his little body gets rid of the bilirubin (besides the lights, of
course). You and Asher are in my thoughts and prayers!

Prayers going up for Asher, Clarice.

Maya turned completely orange (like an oompa loompa!) a few days after
birth, but luckily came in just under the numbers requiring
hospitalization--we just had to keep her in direct sunlight several
hours for several days which did the trick.

From what I understand this is very common in newborns and not really
something to worry about--of course, Asher isn't my baby and I know
how scary anything like this can be! :*(
