CPSC, Michaels Stores, Inc. Announce Recall of Halloween Candleholders

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety
Commission (CPSC), Michaels Stores, Inc., of Irving, Texas, is
voluntarily recalling about 165,000 Halloween tealight candleholders.
Because of the lack of ventilation in these ceramic candleholders, the
tealights can flare up, posing a risk of burns to consumers.

Michaels Stores has received eight reports of flare-ups or scorching
with these Halloween candleholders. Three consumers reportedly received
minor burns to their fingers.

These ceramic Halloween tealight candleholders are in the shape of
pumpkins, gourds, witch hats and ghosts. They are about 2.5 inches to
3.25 inches high. The orange sticker on the bottom of the candleholders
reads, "Made in China" and "MSI Irving, TX."

Michaels Stores nationwide sold these Halloween candleholders from July
2003 through October 2003 for about $1.

Consumers should stop using these candleholders immediately and return
them to any Michaels Store for a refund. For more information, contact
Michaels Stores at (877) 562-3816 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday
through Friday, or go to the company's Web site at www.Michaels.com

You're very welcome. Smile

There are other recalls I don't post, though. Ones about lawn mowers
