I have been divorced for a few years now. I have had a few girlfriends.
The common theme seems to be that they all have issues with me having an ex
wife and shared custody of my kids. Everything is fine in the beginning,
but eventually all the women have brought up their insecurities about my
relationship with my ex. We are affable and both love our kids. My ex will
invite me to do things with the two young kids. In the past when I wasn't
dating I would go with her and the kids to a fair or something. She is very
inclusive. I am not certain how healthy this is for the children, but I
don't really see anything wrong with it. I treat it as I would any special
occasion (say graduation, school fair, etc). However, the women I date seem
to be bothered by this relationship. I suppose they would like her cut out
of my life entirely, but with shared custody that is pretty much impossible.

I feel most of this comes from insecurity, but perhaps something I am doing
is bringing this on in these women. I really don't know. I am really
getting tired of the jealousy of my relationship with my ex and the angst
they express towards me.

I am just wondering if it's possible to work through these issues and
somehow convince my gf that there is nothing to worry about.

Advice? Links to some good articles?

Appreciate it. Thank you.
