Didn't you just officially pass the first trimester moment? Aren't you 13
weeks and 3 days today? Okay so I have been keeping up. And I double-checked
on your blog. So isn't that right? Aren't you one trimester down? Okay I
need a hobby.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

LOLOLOL! Smile

Yes, I'm officially 13w3d down, my little cyberstalking friend, LOL. Smile
Haven't made it over to my blog today, try to do that later.

Was listening to the babies' heartbeats earlier,
and burst into tears--like someone else wrote,
it's surreal but wonderful! :*) :*)

Seems like a lot of the nausea and queasiness is
passing, still have some food aversions and I've
lost a few more pounds, exhaustion is letting up
and I've been able to get some projects worked on
around the house that have been on hold for awhile,
yay! So it's all good. I go back to the OB on the 31st.
Maybe we'll get to see what the genders are then!
I'm still convinced it's a b/g set, but we'll see.
Maya's too funny, she's quizzing her classmates to
see what they think! The girls are either all g/g or
b/g, while all the boys are b/b! That just cracks me
up. Smile

Carolyne, one of my friends at the daycare is due in June a month
before you!! Smile Im following her pregnancy too! So do you
automatically know your going to have a c-section?? Its wild because i
saw a twin birth on baby story the other day and she had hers
vaginally!! Im just assuming your having a c-section?? I can't wait
til you have your babies!!! This is so exciting!!

Clarice

Glad to hear your nausea is better.

Actually, that was one of the first questions I asked my OB--"I guess
twins means an automatic c-section, huh?" and to my surprise, she said,
"Not necessarily!"

She said it depends on how far along I am (aiming for at least 38 weeks,
like Maya) and which position the babies are in. If everything is
optimal, then I can try for vag birth. If not, c-section...the only bad
thing about this is that she said I would HAVE to have an epidural,
regardless of delivery, and delivery would be in the operating room,
just in case (wah, so much for the hotel-like delivery room like we had
with Maya). Sad

I really REALLY do not want an epidural. I've had back injuries over the
years, and been diagnosed with degenerative disks in the past, and
that's supposed to be a bad thing for epi's--plus my sister had one with
each of her kids, and they both went bad--I've got
a lot in common with my sister as far as medical stuff and I'd really
rather not take a chance. Kinda wish we could do the KC #3 delivery and
avoid the OR all together! Smile

We'll see how things go as I get further along. Regardless, whatever it
takes to get these little ones into the world safely is what I'll do.

Oh, and as far as c-sections go, there's a couple things I HATE when I
watch them on Baby Story, Birth Day, etc. on cable--that stupid sheet
in front of the mother so she can't see anything, and her being
'crucified' with her arms stuck down!! Ack! I want to know what's going
on!! I want to see my babies as they enter this world!! I don't want
my arms restrained so that I can't touch them when they are shown to
me!! I actually have had nightmares about this. :*( :*(

Anyways, I'm praying that I can avoid the epidural and the OR and that
the babies will be delivered naturally and safely at just the right time.

I wouldn't think with back injuries or back problems you could even
have the epidural? But i guess with a c-section you would have to
have something. I know i hate the idea of not being able to see the
babies (just like you say on birth story, birth day etc..) and that
stupid sheet would pee me off too!! :0 I hope you have the delivery
you wish for!! Smile I really don't understand why they have to put that
sheet up anyways. This one lady i saw the other day the doctor asked
her during her c-section if she could see the babies so there must
have been a mirror where she could see them coming maybe??? You could
ask about that? I will keep you in my prayers it goes smoothly when
the time comes!!

Yeah, I've got a list of things to ask the anesthesiologist when that
time comes. I'm not sure what the epidural requirements are--with Maya
I was able to walk around, sit in a rocker, etc. and I don't want to
be confined to a bed flat on my back...I've never needed surgery on my
back, but there have been times over the years when I've been down with
back pain for a week or so because the pain was so great. Sad

I used a mirror with Maya, and it was absolutely fascinating, like it
was happening to someone else...DH of course turned totally white
watching (his skin is pretty dark, LOL) so I don't think he'd be any
help at all describing what was happening in detail. Wink In fact, he's
already asked if I want my sister with me if I have to have a c-section!
I wouldn't mind, he was a bit useless during Maya's birth. Smile

A mirror would be fine, and no sheet, a non-screwed up epidural, and
loose arms...my idea of a good c-section. Smile I'd like to enjoy the
little ones immediately after birth this time around since I didn't get
to with Maya

Thanks, Clarice! Smile

The sheet's required typically because it is part of the sterile field. With
Ian his epidural was perfect. I got to see him right after he was born but
because he was so little he went straight to the NICU. They did stop at the
family waiting room and let Rachel see him on the way to the NICU so I was a
happy Mama.

Okay I want the photos of you stomping onto the labor floor with your
sterile clear shower curtain. Because that would be a picture worth a
thousand words. =-)

Oh no you absolutely "qualify." Surprise pregnancies after having to battle
IF are also successes. We love them one and all and cheer them on one and
all.
