I threw up this morning.
First time in 5-6 pregnancies. Caught me
by surprise, but I've sort have been expecting
it since my gag factor is high right now. Wasn't
bad or anything since I hadn't eaten breakfast yet,
but I hate dry heaves almost as much as the bad
stuff! Blech. ;-\
Maya found out and goes "Cool!" because we've
talked about how the research says if you throw
up it mean the baby/ies are in good shape.
Goofy kid.

Thanks, Lily.
I have to admit, there's been a little nagging in the back of my mind
that I WASN'T throwing up, so this was reassuring in a weird, wacky way.
Another fringe benefit of pregnancy after infertility anxiety, I guess.

Hooray for the yakfest, Carolyne! I remember how exciting it was for me
when I threw up with this pregnancy, especially after NOT having felt sick
at all with my first pregnancy, which I lost. So I completely understand
your excitement and hope you continue to have plenty of reassurances that
all is well with the babies (though admittedly, there are more pleasant
symptoms to be had).
I did have mostly dry heaves, which stinks, but it's definitely a lot easier
to deal with if you happen to be hit by a wave of nausea out in public
because there's no major mess to contemplate. I kept a yak sack in my purse
at all times just in case. Actual throwing up and not just dry heaving
really started around 13-14 weeks when I was in the hospital the second time
with my crazy ovary hell, and that continued until about the 19-week mark,
when it ended overnight. I would have been fine with it ending before then,
obviously, but I just kept telling myself that it was all worth it if it
meant my baby was doing well.
Maya's response was hilarious, by the way! Good for her to know now that
not all pregnancy symptoms are bad news--she may need that perspective later
in life.

Yak sack, LOL! GBW, you are too funny!
Got a big baggie in my van now, just in case. Thanks for the advice!
Hopefully like you say much more pleasant symptoms (like kicking) will
be more plentiful soon!

Congrats on throwing up, Carolyne! Along with that baggie in your purse for
unexpected throw ups, make sure to keep a brown paper lunch bag as well. If
you keep the baggie inside the lunch bag, you can throw up into both, and
you don't have to see it...nor does anyone else...

Y'all make it sound so...appetizing, LOL. ;-p
Good idea. Thankfully no barfing today, just a bit of a headache
and a little nosebleed this morning (but our humidifier ran out of
water last night so I'm sure that's the cause).

Actually it's "good" to be feeling under the weather!! I know you know
that already but does anything do good on your stomach?? Crackers
maybe??? (Saltines??? are always good) You just have to find
something that your body likes. Mine was mashed taters that's the
only thing i could keep down for a long time!!

Lol! I felt the same way when I threw up. Weird and twisted yes, but
we've earned the right to be happy about it!

The only problem I have is that I can't eat/drink anything with high
fructose corn syrup in it (causes severe migraines) which cuts down
considerably on what I can eat...regular saltines have hfcs
unfortunately, but they do make a brand called multi-grain saltines
without it. Too bad they taste mostly like cardboard, but oh, well.
What seems to help is peanut butter on toast! And Indian food, these
babies seem to love Indian food, and I'm able to eat good portions of
food as long as it isn't too spicy. We met friends at a wonderful Indian
restaurant down in Dallas last night, Oh, my gosh, I wanted to kidnap
the cook! I had vegetarian lasagna, rasam (Indian soup with
lentils), and salad with a wonderful almond dressing...I'm drooling just
thinking about it. Will definitely have to go back there again!
Thanks, Clarice!

Here's a picture of where we ate, wish it wasn't so darned far away!!
We ate in this little outdoor patio at the table on the far left.
If you EVER go to Dallas you MUST go to Kalachandji's!

I could only eat peanut butter on toast for the first trimester with DD.
Lucky I like it
